Chances are, you might not be as familiar with the business side of commercial photography. That’s why we’re hosting a Business Practices in Photography workshop on September 9th from 1-3pm at Union Hall in Over-the-Rhine.
Instructor and professional photographer (and #TetherCincy creative!) Marlene Rounds leads this instructional workshop focused on business strategies crucial to the photography industry. Learn the necessary info to develop and grow your business, including:
- How to assess the value of your work
- How to manage photo rights, licensing and ownership
- Tracking where and how your images are used
- How to properly estimate an assignment
Learn how to protect your copyright, the first question you should ask in any image business transaction, and work through “real life” scenarios to practice what you need to understand going into a job. You’ll leave equipped with the knowledge to ask the right questions and the confidence to get paid what your work is worth.
Instructor Marlene Rounds has 13 years of freelance professional photography experience, across three cities (Chicago, New York and Cincinnati) and various markets (Advertising, Catalogue, Ecommerce, and Editorial), in addition to a Business degree.
