The New TetherCincinnati.com is Alive!
Attention #TetherCincy fam: we officially have a new 'do.
Notice anything different?
As a non-web designer, the idea of creating a site that could do everything TetherCincinnati.com needs to do—feature the work of Cincinnati’s amazing image-makers, tell the #TetherCincy story in a visually appealing way, and provide a platform for finding the best local talent—was overwhelming to say the least.
On the recommendation of the team at ShopMadeinCincinnati.com and the good folks at People’s Liberty, I reached out to the super talented Laura Katz to whip the design and layout into shape. After a few highly productive meetings and phone calls (and plenty of Laura’s coding magic), the new site went live during Sunday night’s Game of Thrones. That was a strategic decision—I figured everyone would be too distracted by Stark vs. Lannister drama to notice any potential glitches.
Tether is here
The new site is sleek, sexy and exciting, just like our work. Actually, the website exists to feature and promote our work, providing a place for it to live and be seen outside of individual portfolios and social media accounts. It’s a united front for creative imagery.
Here's what you'll find
On the Features page, you’ll find inspiration and interviews with Cincinnati image-makers sharing the who/what/why/how of their creative process with the world (read: potential clients). Want to be featured? Get in touch.
The Events page is pretty self-explanatory, but keep an eye on it, because more exciting opportunities to meet up and make connections are on the way. Heads up: There’s an AIGA Happy Hour coming August 31st, and on September 9th, we’re hosting a Business of Photography workshop at Union Hall. Led by photographer Marlene Rounds, this is an essential crash course to help commercial photographers get better at estimates, contracts and pricing.
If you’re an image-maker, look for a directory coming this September: you’ll be able to add yourself to a sort-able (not a word, but you get it) listing that gives clients seeking out specific talents a direct line to you and what you have to offer. Sign up for the mailing list to get notified when that's ready.
Whew! That’s all for now. Follow this site for updates, and stay tuned to all things Tether on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Thanks for being a part of and supporting #TetherCincy!
