Cincinnati is filled with talented image-makers: we have a wealth of photographers, creative directors, wardrobe stylists, hair & makeup artists, models, and fashion designers. So how do we promote ourselves, our work, and our city? How do we let the world know what we can do?
Simple: We'll tell 'em in print.
Cool, but what is Tether?
Tether is a new community and resource for Cincinnati image-makers—the photographers, wardrobe stylists, makeup artists, hair stylists, models, creative directors, and fashion designers who create the imagery in your favorite magazines, ads, and commercial campaigns.
Tether is my (I’m Tamia, hey there!) 2017 Haile Fellowship project, which is focused on creating an infrastructure that makes it easier for local image-makers to connect to each other and to opportunities for work so they can thrive—and stay—here in Cincinnati.
What is the sourcebook?
The Tether sourcebook is our first big project. A cross between a portfolio, a directory, and a magazine, it’s a beautifully designed print book that includes imagery, editorial, and a listing of Cincinnati image-makers that will be distributed to agencies and brands locally and nationwide. It’s our chance to collaborate on a dope project, promote ourselves and our city, and show the world what we can do.
How does this work?
Image-makers can submit their concepts for photo shoots via the form below through Sunday, June 11th, 2017. The best 20-25 concepts will be chosen, creative leads will be notified, and concepts will be presented at an event on June 26th. Image-makers interested in working on the chosen concepts can come to the event to network, make connections, and join a crew.
Photo shoots will take place July-August; images are due first week of September.
Images from the photo shoots, along with crew credits, editorial about the people and process, and a directory of local image-makers will be compiled into a high-end sourcebook.
